Job Coach
CAPI is currently seeking a part- time Somali Job Coach. This person will be working in the Training Department. This person will work closely with the 17 Hennepin County MFIP Providers to provide individualized job coaching, intakes, and performance evaluation to MFIP Clients with language level of 0- 5 CASAS.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients based on interests, abilities, skills and barriers to employment. Place clients into appropriate work site, attend orientations, and interpret when necessary.
  • Meet with program participants and supervisors at least once a month to update on progress and help participants improve work habits and skills
  • Effectively documents work activities and results
  • Strong Team Player: Contributes to the agency’s overall effectiveness in fulfilling its mission & objectives
  • Assist with the job search process for clients including providing job leads, resume assistance, and transportation to and from interviews
  • Other duties as assigned by Training Manager

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both Somali and English languages
  • Knowledge and experience in the Minnesota Family Investment Program
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse staff and clients
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • Effective teaching/facilitation and training skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a strong team player
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Familiarity and comfort with electronic forms of communication, including ready access and responsiveness to e-mail correspondence
  • Knowledge of the barriers both staff and clients confront on a daily basis and abilities in finding solutions to these barriers
