Refugee Social Services Program
CAPI’s Refugee Social Services (RSS) Program provides resources to enhance the integration and resettlement success, as new Americans, to our clients who participate in our employment services. We provide community outreach to new refugees and comprehensive case management services to more than 140 recent arrivals annually.
CAPI USA provides assistance to new refugees by coaching families in understanding the transportation system Non-employment services may also be provided to refugees who encounter difficulties in adjusting to life in the United States. These services include information and outside referrals, home management, parenting skills, education, immigration and naturalization, and translation and interpretation assistance.
Refugee social services are provided entirely through federal funding from several sources. Federal grants are awarded based on the percentage of refugees that resettled in the state over the three previous fiscal years. Targeted assistance grants provide for services in impacted counties (for which Hennepin and Ramsey counties currently qualify). (This information was gathered from the MN Department of Human Services website.)
Eligibility for services is limited to refugees during their 12 months in this country.
To enroll in CAPI's refugee social services programs please call CAPI and ask to speak with an MFIP Counselor.
