CAPI is a community-based social justice organization and a direct implementer of anti-poverty programs to create jobs, housing, food, health education, youth and senior social services, to promote economic independence, self-advocacy and determination of 3,000 African and Asian refugees and immigrants, annually. We believe in the voices of our primary constituents – refugees and immigrants. Over 90% of our participants are living at or twice below the federally designated poverty level. Learn more about program participants' characteristics and demographics.

To work toward self-determination for all participants in CAPI's programs, we are beginning the process of incorporating social justice into all aspects of the work we do. To begin this, we are investing in the human capital of all of our staff, participants, and partners. This year CAPI will be providing human rights trainings for staff, so that they in turn can educate and advocate for our participants' rights.
