Eastside Food Co-Op Fundraiser

During the first two weeks of January the Eastside Food Co-Op, located in NE Minneapolis, hosted a fundraiser for the CAPI food shelf. Collectively, 2,427 individual cash donations (rounded up at the cash register) raised $1,245.93 for CAPI’s food shelf. The Eastside Food Co-Op reported 68% of the monetary donations were from Co-Op members. Additionally, shoppers contributed 150 pounds of food for the CAPI food shelf. CAPI’s food shelf is the only Asian specific

food shelf in the state of Minnesota. Managed by Hmong speaking staff, the food shelf also serves as a gate way to social services available at CAPI and referrals to other community partners.
